About me
Samantha (Sam), is a sixth-year Social Science teacher in the West Valley of Phoenix, a two time Gilder Lehrman awardee, National World War I Museum and Memorial fellow, and fellow with the University of Michigan. Graduating from Grand Canyon University in 2018 and relocating from Southern California, Samantha became a curriculum writer for the district within her first year. Sam launched the inaugural Advanced Placement Human Geography program just a year into her career while building an AP mentorship on campus. She is likewise the main World History teacher for ELL students, manages the Civics Literacy Program providing students with state awards, and is World History Content Lead. Sam has a passion for helping students acknowledge their abilities and grow to their full potential. She aids other students through the Arizona History day program as a state judge. When Sam is not teaching, she can be found serving in church, hanging out with friends, adventuring with her pets, hiking, or exploring local coffee shops.
